On the weekend of 26th October, a bunch of our keenest barbershoppers made the epic journey to Llandudno, Wales for what was to be the most memorable LABBS convention that TUBBS has ever seen!
Kicking things off, a fab group of ladies flew the TUBBS flag, and gave stunning mic warming performance - Well done to you guys, and congratulations to some of you for your first ever LABBS performance!
TUBBS quartet BOMB Squad came 8th in the ladies' quartet competition, and mic-warmed the quartet finals. They were also awarded the Blue Chords Novice Quartet Trophy, as highest placed novice quartet at prelims (in June)! They bade an emotional farewell to their bass Olivia Clarke as she leaves for Rwanda. Good job ladies - and you looked hot! You can watch their performances on youtube: mic-warming and semi-final.
In the final competition of the weekend, the mixed quartet competition, TUBBS quartet Patchwork did us very proud indeed and won gold! There were a ridiculous amount of happy-tears shed when this was announced! TUBBS could not be prouder! Well done on your fantastic performance and achievement! You can watch there performance here.
It is wonderful to see our TUBBS members participating in the wider barbershop community in this country, and making life-long friends in the process. We are so proud of all of our LABBS attendees and hope that this will inspire future generations of TUBBS-ers to ‘get their quartet on’ and start competing!
